Outsmarting the Statues
After taking some time to regroup, the party determines they will not be able to beat the statues in a fight. Needing the key though, they hatch a plan to lead the statues to the pit they pulled Sera from. Rivvikyn will grab the key and throw it past the group of statues bunched in the doorway. Then Beckett will use his mage hand to carry the key ahead of the statues down the hallway and into the pit room. Then he will hold the key high in the air until the statues are on the moveable floor. Amos will then walk onto the floor until it starts opening and retreat to safety.
The plan goes off without a hitch and the statues fall to the bottom of the pit, allowing the key to be returned to the locked door. A closer inspection of the key reveals it has a similar engraved message on it, “Five from the Left with three in between.” They place the key in the opposite keyhole of the first and turn it. A second corner of the door seems to unlock, but there are still two remaining. Eventually they figure the other two keyholes that need to be unlocked and manage to open the heavy door. Behind it is a large stone lifted several inches off the ground. On the other side we can make out a fountain in a small circular room.
